Description Work for Solo Piano commissioned for the City of London Festival in 1999.Quoting John Tavener: Ypaköe, in Greek refers to the Yapöe of Easter Why seek ye among the dead, as though He were mortal man?. Ypaköe for solo piano is a meditation on both the Passion and Resurrection of Christ. Ypakoë is a totally spiritual concept - to attone the individual´s (performer´s or listener´s) will to the divine will. Ypakoë is personal and its violation may permit sanctions, the purpose of which is to heal the listeners.
